At the end of the19th century, the communication lines are rare in Corrèze and the local population encounters difficulties to move. The construction of the secondaries railway lines of Transcorrézien and of Paris-Orleans-Corrèze truly changed the life of a population isolated in its hamlets.
These small trains having nowadays disappeared, Transcorréziens has set itself as a target to restore, develop and animate this railway inheritance, thus proposing an original approach of Corrèze, between Monts of Monédières and Gorges of the Dordogne.
By wandering through the routes of Transcorrézien and the P.O.C., you will find wild and varied landscapes, the local History, the gastronomy and other richnesses of the villages formerly crossed by these peculiar trains.
Do not hesitate to have a break near our restored stations. Benefit from the cordial reception of the natives and discover the Rochers Noirs Viaduct, overhanging the wild gorges of the Luzège.
Called "Le Tacot ", the Jalopy, in reason of its weak pace, the Transcorrézien hev « marked the rythm » of the Correzian villages and the hamlets' life, during 46 years. Like its accomplice , the POC, it symbolized the coming of the modernism and the opening-up of the campaigns...
Exploited from 1904, the small train of the P.O.C., affectionately called "Transcailladou", has transported its passengers during 56 years. Sputtering, paining in the hard climbs in laces, it thus allowed to the population to discover the city and to escape a little...
